Frank McCourt, executive chairman of McCourt Global, joined Brian Kilmeade to discuss his continuing interest to purchase TikTok as the Chinese owned platform either has to divest or will be banned in the US next month. McCourt believes that in its current form, TikTok is a real threat to Americans by putting their data into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party and giving them the ability to manipulate Americans. McCourt agrees with President-elect Trump in not wanting to see TikTok banned because it could be turned into a American run version that has the same user experience while also giving users, influencers and creators a chance to own a piece of the platform so that they’re highly incentivized to use it in a healthy way. If ByteDance decides not to sell, McCourt will look to build a replacement for TikTok, one that is not harming and addicting kids and not a national security risk to American citizens.
